Jung Aram is aiming for a second consecutive victory on his "promised land."

He will compete in the KPGA Gyeongbuk Open, a newly established tournament on the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour, held at Hanmaek Country Club (par 72, 7,315 yards) in Yecheon, North Gyeongsang Province, on October 1. The total prize money is 700 million won. A total of 120 players will compete over four days in a 72-hole stroke play format to determine the winner. The champion will receive 140 million won in prize money, a two-year KPGA Tour seed, and 1,000 Genesis points.

Jung Aram claimed victory at the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyungju Invitational last week. This marked his fourth KPGA Tour win, coming one year and three months after his previous victory at the KPGA Championship in June of last year. He earned 250 million won in prize money, moving up to sixth place in the money rankings with a total of 326.32 million won.

After a slow first half of the season, Jung Aram regained his form by tying for 27th at the Golfzon Open on September 21, and then went on to win the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyungju Invitational. He has fond memories at this golf course. In April last year, during the final round of the KPGA Founders Cup at Hanmaek Country Club, he impressively shot eight under par over nine holes (holes 1-9) on the outward course. He finished tied for eighth place in that tournament.

Jung Aram commented, "Hanmaek Country Club generally has narrow fairways, so you need to play strategically," adding, "With the Chuseok holiday approaching, I will do my best to give my family another big gift."
