Improving Organizational Culture Through Staff Communication Programs
Shinan County takes the lead in spreading a culture of integrity by moving away from rigid formal lectures and adopting quiz and talk-style sessions.
Shinan County in South Jeolla Province held a unique integrity special lecture that broke away from the traditional rigid format by incorporating quizzes and talk sessions, aiming to spread a culture of integrity within the public sector.
On September 29, at the county office auditorium, all staff members participated in an interactive special lecture that began with an 'Integrity OX Quiz.' The session covered practical topics such as the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, and the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act. Small prizes were awarded to those who answered correctly, increasing engagement and focus during the session.
Kim Daein, acting governor of Shinan County, took the stage as the main speaker, emphasizing the principles and value of integrity among public officials under the theme of 'Admiral Yi Sun-sin's Integrity Leadership.' He stated, "Public officials must foster a culture of mutual understanding based on dignity and consideration," resonating with the audience.
In particular, during the 'Deputy Governor, We're Curious!' segment, employees freely asked questions about practical concerns and suggestions for improving organizational culture. The acting governor provided sincere answers, creating an open and candid space for communication.
A county official commented, "This special lecture was an attempt to go beyond simply delivering knowledge, addressing actual conflicts and issues within the organization in an engaging yet serious manner. We will continue to promote a culture of integrity in daily life through various communication programs, striving to build a transparent and happy Shinan County."
