Muan County Promotes Hwangtorang Rice at Local Food Market

Selected as One of South Jeolla's Top 10 High-Quality Rice Brands for 16 Consecutive Years

Muan County in South Jeolla Province has launched efforts to expand sales channels and raise awareness of its signature rice brand, Hwangtorang rice, ahead of the Chuseok holiday. On September 29, the county announced that it had promoted Hwangtorang rice at the "2025 Muan Local Food Direct Market," which was held at Oryong Park on September 27.

The county distributed Hwangtorang rice directly to visitors at the event, allowing consumers to experience its taste at home. This initiative helped increase brand recognition and had a positive impact on boosting consumption.

Hwangtorang rice is cultivated in Muan’s fertile loess soil, giving it excellent flavor and consistent quality. As a result, it has been selected for 16 consecutive years as one of the top 10 high-quality rice brands by South Jeolla Province. The direct market event not only promoted Hwangtorang rice but also featured local food sales, hands-on experiences, and resident participation events, attracting significant attention.

A county official stated, "Hwangtorang rice is Muan County’s representative high-quality brand," adding, "We will continue to actively promote it through direct markets and festivals in the future."
