The Communist Party of China has announced that it will hold a plenary session of the Central Committee, its highest decision-making body, for four days starting from October 20.
According to Xinhua News Agency on September 29, the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China held a meeting presided over by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, and decided to convene the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee (the 20th Fourth Plenum) in Beijing from October 20 to 23.
The Political Bureau listened to feedback on the draft of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for national economic and social development and decided to submit the revised draft, reflecting the discussions from this meeting, to the Fourth Plenum for review.
The meeting assessed that the draft deeply analyzes the significant and complex changes facing China’s development environment and presents an overall framework and strategic plan for development over the next five years.
This year, China will complete the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025).
