Damyang County Mobilizes All Efforts for Residents' and Visitors' Safety and Convenience During Chuseok Holiday

Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) announced on September 29 that it will implement comprehensive measures ahead of the Chuseok holiday to ensure that residents and returning visitors can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday.

The county will operate an emergency work system consisting of 11 teams and 210 personnel, centered around the comprehensive situation room. The teams will address various areas, including strengthening disaster and safety management, resolving civil complaints and managing the situation room, facilitating traffic flow and providing convenience for visitors, maintaining cleanliness and environmental management, stabilizing prices and supporting vulnerable groups, and reinforcing the medical and quarantine response system.

To prevent disasters and fires, the county will strengthen safety inspections of multi-use facilities, traditional markets, and major transportation facilities. During the holiday period, the comprehensive situation room will operate 24 hours a day to respond swiftly to emergencies. Additionally, to ease traffic congestion, the county plans to implement traffic measures and secure public parking lots in major roads and congested areas, as well as provide guidance to travelers.

The cleaning team will reorganize the household waste collection system to maintain a pleasant living environment, while the price stabilization team will guide and inspect distribution practices such as price labeling and country-of-origin labeling systems.

In addition, the county will visit and support vulnerable groups and conduct safety inspections of social welfare facilities to foster an inclusive holiday atmosphere. During the holiday period, an emergency medical care system will be maintained, with designated emergency medical institutions, on-call medical facilities, and holiday duty pharmacies to minimize medical service gaps, while also strengthening infectious disease prevention and quarantine activities.

Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "We will thoroughly prepare to ensure there are no administrative gaps during the holiday period so that all residents can enjoy a safe and warm holiday," adding, "I hope this Chuseok will be a time to share warmth with neighbors."
