A Spectacular Drone and Fireworks Show
for Residents, Returning Families, and Tourists
On September 29, the Goheung County Office in Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced that it will host a drone show and marine fireworks show at the Nokdong Port Marine Garden area over three days, from October 4 and October 6 to 7, to celebrate Chuseok, Korea's major traditional holiday.
This event will be held under the themes of ▲ "Moonlight Art Museum (Folk Painting Edition)" on October 4, ▲ "Chuseok with the Moon Rabbit" on October 6, and ▲ "Goheung, Autumn Outing" on October 7. During the daytime on each event day, traditional game experience zones such as jegichagi, hoop rolling, and tuho will be set up so that visitors to Nokdong Port can enjoy the festive atmosphere of the holiday.
In particular, on October 6, the day of Chuseok, a fireworks and drone show featuring 1,500 drones equipped with fireworks will be staged, enhancing the quality of the performance and offering local residents, returning families, and tourists an unforgettable autumn night.
Furthermore, in anticipation of large crowds for the special Chuseok holiday performances, the county plans to establish safety measures and thoroughly prepare for the event in close cooperation with relevant agencies and local community organizations.
Governor Gong Youngmin stated, "We have prepared a variety of attractions for visitors to Goheung during the Chuseok holiday, including a special drone show, marine fireworks show, and busking performances," adding, "I hope everyone will experience the new and evolving charm of Goheung and create unforgettable memories."
Meanwhile, since its launch in 2023, the Nokdong Port Drone Show has attracted a cumulative total of approximately 510,000 tourists and generated an economic impact of 43.9 billion won, establishing itself as Goheung's signature tourism content.
The Goheung County Nokdong Port Drone Show is scheduled to conclude with a closing ceremony on October 25, but the schedule may change depending on weather conditions such as rain or strong winds.
