In the domestic stock market, the corporate value of Robotis, which developed a 'robot hand,' and Wonik Holdings has risen by approximately 560% and 460%, respectively, compared to the end of last year. As it has become known that robot hands are a key factor in dominating the humanoid robot market, there is a continuing trend of reevaluating related stocks.
Recently, Korea PIM, which has secured the nation's first ultra-precision material manufacturing technology for humanoids, has also joined this 'leveling up' trend. Korea PIM has acquired ultra-precision manufacturing technology called 'micro metal powder injection molding (MIM),' which enables the production of parts necessary for the precise movement of robot hands, and is working to supply this technology to American humanoid companies. Expectations are rising that the company will be revalued from an automotive parts manufacturer to a listed company in the humanoid value chain.
As of 9:19 a.m. on the 29th, Korea PIM was trading at 19,000 won, up 2,230 won (13.30%) from the previous trading day.
Song Junho, CEO of Korea PIM, said, "In humanoid robots, especially in the fingers, ultra-small reducers of generally less than 20mm are used to achieve precise movements," adding, "These small reducers are made up of very tiny parts, which are mainly manufactured using turning processes."
He continued, "The turning process is not suitable for mass production," and added, "Korea PIM has secured technology that enables mass production of small parts by applying micro MIM technology."
CEO Song explained, "Unlike conventional robots, the key for humanoids is to achieve precise movements. For this, ultra-small reducers are essential, and Korea PIM mainly manufactures reducers with a diameter of less than 50mm, aiming to supply them to humanoid robot module manufacturing companies."
He further emphasized, "Although I cannot disclose details due to non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with our clients, the development of materials for humanoid parts has been completed, and we are currently conducting physical property tests on lightweight materials."
