Next year's projects will focus on several key areas: discovering new policies linked to government national agendas and the construction of the space-aerospace complex city; expanding the core industrial ecosystem; securing new growth engines; and improving residential conditions and revitalizing the local economy. First, the city will accelerate efforts to build a globally competitive space-aerospace complex city.

To this end, the city plans to urge the enactment of a special law for the construction of the space-aerospace complex city, promote the expansion of Sacheon Airport and its upgrade to an international airport, support the establishment of the main campus of the National Aviation University’s space-aerospace division, and create both public and private knowledge industry centers as well as a satellite development innovation center, thereby establishing innovation hubs for the aerospace industry.

In particular, the city aims to broaden the industrial ecosystem by developing a mobility-specialized city and creating an industrial complex focused on satellite and unmanned aerial vehicle development. Secondly, efforts to establish a stay-type marine tourism city along the southern coast will be fully launched.

The city will develop the Rainbow Ecological Trail and the Seonsangji themed tourist attraction, and expand stay-type marine tourism facilities at the Namildae Recreation Area, highlighting the unique characteristics of the southern coast.

Additionally, the city will create an urban environment where the sea, culture, and the arts coexist, and build a finless porpoise observatory to provide a foundation for tourists to stay and enjoy their visit. Thirdly, the city will support the creation of a mutually prosperous economic ecosystem where everyone can thrive.

Various policies will be implemented to promote the growth and development of small businesses, and the vitality of local fishing villages will be enhanced through the release of fishery seeds, the creation of marine ranches, and new revitalization projects for fishing communities.

The city will also work to strengthen the competitiveness of seafood products and promote eco-friendly ecological agriculture, while fostering and supporting young entrepreneurs to establish a sustainable local economic foundation. Lastly, the city will focus on improving residential conditions to build a self-sufficient city with a population of 250,000, thereby enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.

Future-oriented infrastructure will be expanded, including the construction of a public postnatal care center, the establishment of a safe emergency medical system, support for renewable energy convergence, and the development of future capabilities in AI and media convergence.

In addition, the city will work on renovating old water and sewage pipelines, expanding the supply of city gas, and creating riverside spaces along Sacheon River and new baseball fields to improve citizens' convenience and leisure environments.

Particular emphasis will be placed on expanding educational and welfare infrastructure, such as increasing entrance congratulatory funds for elementary, middle, and high school students and implementing the "Happy Two Meals" project for underprivileged children, to ensure that all citizens can enjoy a happy and prosperous life.

Meanwhile, the city plans to organize the opinions raised during this meeting and revise and supplement the 2026 major work plan to enhance its feasibility and completeness.

Mayor Park Dongsik stated, "This reporting meeting is an important occasion to prepare for the future of our city, so we have incorporated a variety of ideas from our staff in developing the work plan. As 2026 is the most crucial time for Sacheon City, which holds infinite potential, to take another step toward the future, we will focus all administrative capabilities to achieve these goals."
