Damyang County Conducts Safety Experience Training for Emergency Volunteer Support Group

Damyang County in South Jeolla Province announced on the 28th that it recently conducted disaster safety experience training for 20 members of the emergency volunteer support group at the Bitgoeul National Safety Experience Center in Gwangju City.

This training was organized to strengthen the group’s ability to respond quickly and systematically in the event of a disaster. Key personnel responsible for initial response participated and received field-oriented, practical training.

The emergency volunteer support group consists of 1,854 members from 15 organizations within the county, playing a central role in recovery efforts at various disaster and accident sites. The training program comprised three courses: emergency safety, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid for airway obstruction; daily life safety; and response guidelines for heavy rainfall and vehicle submersion. Participants enhanced their disaster response capabilities through hands-on experiences and simulations of real-life situations, acquiring essential skills for rapid and accurate relief activities.

County Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "Disasters occur without warning, so preparation and training in advance are more important than anything else." He added, "We will continue to support ongoing safety education and training so that the emergency volunteer support group can remain a strong pillar in the field."
