The Korea Exchange and Koscom announced on September 28 that they had conducted an emergency joint inspection of capital market IT systems in response to the fire at the National Information Resources Service.
The Korea Exchange stated, "As a result of the joint inspection, all capital market IT systems can continue to provide normal services without significant impact." The exchange added, "However, when issuing a new business certificate for Koscom's authentication service through non-face-to-face channels, resident registration cards cannot be verified. Instead, a driver's license or in-person verification can be used."
The Korea Exchange and Koscom will operate a 24-hour joint emergency response team until the government systems are fully restored and will promptly provide updates to minimize inconvenience for market participants.
