“A Council Where Citizens Are the True Owners,
Opening a Hopeful Future for Gimcheon Together”
Dear citizens of Gimcheon, and those who have left but still hold Gimcheon in your hearts. As we welcome Chuseok, the great traditional holiday of our nation, I extend my deepest gratitude and warmest greetings to you all.
Just as nature, having endured the sweltering heat, now bears rich fruit, the sweat and dedication of our 140,000 citizens who have steadfastly remained in their places are opening new doors of hope for Gimcheon.
Recently, while visiting the traditional market, I came across freshly harvested, glossy chestnuts. They served as a reminder that, even in an ever-changing world, the seasons unfailingly fulfill their roles. This is much like each of you, who do your utmost in your respective places.
The Gimcheon City Council always strives to be an institution where citizens are the true owners. We will adhere to fundamentals and principles, serve our citizens with humility, and practice integrity to earn your trust. For the remainder of my term, I will reflect even more deeply and act with sincerity to change the lives of our citizens and create a new vision for Gimcheon's future together with you.
Even amidst the abundance and joy of this holiday, there are still neighbors around us in need of help. When we come together with even small acts of care and kindness, this Chuseok will truly become a holiday for everyone.
As the old saying goes, "May every day be just like Chuseok," I hope this holiday brings you warm rest and renewed hope. I sincerely wish you a joyful holiday, sharing abundance and happiness with your family and neighbors.
Thank you.
Nayoung Min, Chairman of Gimcheon City Council
