Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, commented on the Korea-U.S. customs negotiations on the 27th, stating, "It has already been revealed to be a massive fraud against the public," and demanded, "President Lee Jaemyung should release the memorandum and the contents of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) to the public."

Jang made these remarks during a press conference at the National Assembly that day. He also criticized President Lee, who recently visited New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly, for not attending a dinner hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump. He questioned, "What exactly was the reason for not attending the dinner, which brought together leaders from 145 countries and was a truly important diplomatic event?" He added sarcastically, "Was it uncomfortable to sit upright, or was it because you did not receive permission from Kim Jongun, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea?"
He continued, "Destruction of the judiciary, media suppression through 'covering mouths,' destruction of the legislature by eradicating the opposition, destruction of diplomacy due to failed customs negotiations and humiliating diplomacy, destruction of national security, and even economic destruction due to failed customs negotiations-how can this be called a country?" He went on to criticize, "President Lee, Prime Minister Kim Minseok, his brother Kim Minwoong, party leader Jung Chungrae, and Minister Chung Dongyoung-these five, the so-called 'Eagle Five,' are the risk factors for South Korea."
Meanwhile, regarding the passage of the amendment to the Government Organization Act, which centers on abolishing the Prosecutors' Office and was passed the previous day at the National Assembly led by the ruling party, Jang said, "I hope President Lee will exercise his veto."
Jang pointed out, "The amendment to the Government Organization Act, which abolishes the Prosecutors' Office-a key pillar of the judicial system for 78 years-has been passed," and added, "The Democratic Party has thrown a bomb, and now no one can predict how far the aftermath will spread or who will be hit by the shrapnel."
