Korea National University of Cultural Heritage Recruiting Adjunct Professors for National Heritage Restoration Technician Training Class Scene of National Heritage Restoration Technician Training Course

The Traditional Culture Education Center at the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage announced on September 29 that it will recruit approximately seven additional adjunct professors for the "National Heritage Restoration Technician Training Course" from October 13 to 24.

This program is an educational course designed to train national heritage restoration technicians as stipulated by the "Act on the Repair of National Heritage, etc." Since 2012, the center has operated this program to systematically cultivate skilled professionals capable of directly restoring national heritage on-site. The faculty is composed of experts in relevant fields, including holders of intangible cultural heritage, national heritage restoration artisans, and others, providing hands-on, customized training.

The fields for which adjunct professors are being recruited this time include two courses in the art and craft sector (basic lacquerware course and advanced metalwork course) and five courses in the architecture sector (basic roof tile making, roof tile manufacturing, basic Korean plastering, and both basic and advanced Korean floor heating courses). Eligible applicants include holders of national, municipal, or provincial intangible cultural heritage, Masters of Korea, skilled technique transmitters, intangible heritage transmission educators, and those with national heritage restoration technician (skilled technician) certifications, all of whom must have at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field.

The selection process consists of a first-round document review and a second-round demonstration lecture and interview. Final candidates will be appointed as adjunct professors at the Traditional Culture Education Center and will serve for 22 months, from March 2026 to December 2027.
