The 8th popularly elected administration of Gimpo City has moved beyond the narrow perspective of "among ourselves within Gimpo," resolving local long-standing issues through external communication and cooperation. On the 25th, Vice Mayor Lee Seokbeom met with Olim Nazrullaev, Vice Chairman of the Uzbekistan Committee on Ethnic Relations and Overseas Koreans, Eliyor Nishonov, Consul of Uzbekistan in Korea, and Nurmatjon Komilov, Head of the Investment and Trade Representative Office, at Gimpo City Hall to discuss cooperation between Gimpo City and Uzbekistan.
In his welcoming remarks, Vice Mayor Lee Seokbeom stated, "Gimpo is a city with advanced transportation and industry, and it shares many similarities with Uzbekistan, which is a key transportation hub in Central Asia and has a multicultural tradition. There is great potential for cooperation not only in business and the economy, but also in education, culture, and human exchange. I hope today's meeting will deepen the friendship between our two cities and serve as a starting point for future collaboration."

Uzbekistan holds a significant position in terms of population and economic scale among the five Central Asian countries, and Fergana City is recognized as a key hub for transportation and logistics, as well as a center for agriculture and industry. As a city with a rich multiethnic culture and traditional crafts, there are high expectations for synergistic effects from exchanges with Gimpo City.
Gimpo City plans to use this meeting as a springboard to accelerate exchanges with Fergana City and expand its cooperation network throughout Central Asia.
