Gwangjin District in Seoul (District Mayor Kim Kyungho) announced on September 26 that it will implement the "2025 Chuseok Comprehensive Plan" for nine days from October 2 to October 10, so that all residents can enjoy a safe and comfortable holiday during the Chuseok break.

Gwangjin District Implements Comprehensive Chuseok Plan... 24-Hour Emergency System in Operation Gwangjin District Office. Provided by Gwangjin District.

The district will focus on eight key areas: ensuring a warm Chuseok for all, price stabilization, transportation measures, disaster and flood preparedness, safety and fire prevention, medical and health services, sanitation, and strengthening public sector discipline. To maintain a 24-hour emergency response system throughout the holiday, the district will operate specialized teams for disaster safety, transportation, flood and weather response, parks, sanitation, and medical care.

For welfare measures, the district will provide consolation funds and emergency support activities for vulnerable groups, including children at risk of malnutrition, seniors living alone, and people with disabilities. The Emergency Livelihood Stability Support Team will ensure a robust welfare safety net.

In the area of price stabilization, the district will operate a comprehensive situation room to monitor and crack down on price collusion and unfair practices, while continuously monitoring the prices of key goods. Additional measures include issuing Gwangjin Sarang gift certificates, hosting traditional market events, and operating direct sales markets for agricultural and marine products to help residents shop economically.

For transportation, the district will conduct safety inspections at Dong Seoul Terminal and increase the number of buses in operation. It will also inspect transportation facilities to prevent accidents. The district will operate a transportation situation room and a parking complaint situation room, and apply parking enforcement flexibly to minimize inconvenience for residents. To prepare for disasters and sudden weather events, the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will be mobilized and facility safety inspections will be strengthened.

Additionally, the district will conduct large-scale cleaning operations and intensive waste collection in each neighborhood before Chuseok, and will organize special cleaning and mobile teams during the holiday to maintain a clean living environment. To reduce medical service gaps, the district will operate an emergency medical team at the public health center, maintain emergency systems at medical institutions, and designate pharmacies that will remain open during the holidays.

Kim Kyungho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, stated, "We have established an emergency contact system and all departments of the district office are thoroughly preparing so that every resident can enjoy a safe and comfortable Chuseok. In particular, we will do our utmost to support vulnerable groups and stabilize prices so that everyone can share a warm holiday together."
