The county announced that this inspection is being carried out to ensure a smooth and expanded supply of forest products and to promote the consumption of domestic forest products during the peak trading season of Chuseok. The guidance and inspection on origin labeling are also intended to prevent the distribution of fraudulent forest products.

The intensive inspection will cover 14 items, including matsutake mushrooms, chestnuts, jujubes, and dried persimmons, focusing on traditional markets and supermarkets within the county where purchases are high. The county will provide guidance on proper origin labeling methods and will focus on cracking down on violations such as failing to label the origin or falsely labeling the origin. A forest fire prevention awareness campaign will also be conducted in parallel.

An official from Yangyang County stated, "As demand for forest products is expected to increase ahead of Chuseok, we will strengthen inspections and publicity on origin labeling so that consumers can purchase our forest products with confidence," adding, "We will do our best to protect both producers and consumers by establishing sound distribution practices."
