Participatory Hit Content Gains Popularity
The "Street Radio Show," which brings laughter and music to visitors at the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival in a street filled with the scent of ginseng, is enjoying great popularity.
This year, a large LED display has been newly installed on the stage, showcasing videos that highlight the history of ginseng and the festival at a glance, thereby enhancing promotional effectiveness.
The Street Radio Show is held every day during the festival from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Ginseng Herbal Medicine Street, which is closed to vehicles.
In particular, the witty remarks of the host, spontaneous audience participation, and a variety of performances-including a saxophone ensemble, janggu percussion, samulnori, band and dance performances, magic shows, and a senior group sound-are presented without interruption. These continuous performances maximize the unique excitement and live atmosphere of street shows, earning the event a reputation as a "festival to be enjoyed together."
One visitor at the scene shared, "Thanks to the radio show, I felt as if I became the star of the stage and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I discovered new charms of Geumsan's tourism, and I definitely want to visit again after the festival."
An official from the county stated, "The Street Radio Show is a uniquely participatory performance exclusive to the Ginseng Festival, serving as a venue for harmony between local residents and tourists. We will continue to expand diverse performances and experiences to further enhance the festival's distinctiveness."
