The two organizations will begin full-scale cooperation to develop and promote a new ESG standard model applicable across the tourism industry. Specifically, they plan to sequentially pursue initiatives such as establishing and expanding the K-Tourism ESG certification system and launching an MBA program linked to corporate sponsorship.
The Korean Tourism Association will oversee policy coordination and the government and public institution network, ensuring the credibility of the system. Infinity Consulting will be responsible for the overall planning of the project and the business sector, including the development of an artificial intelligence (AI) platform based on patented technology.
Kyung Hee University's College of Hotel and Tourism Management will participate as an R&D partner, overseeing academic research and professional talent development, which are core elements of the K-Tourism ESG Alliance.
The K-Tourism ESG Alliance plans to expand its research areas from the hotel industry to the broader tourism sector, including resorts and casinos. By developing ESG standard models that reflect the unique characteristics of each field, the alliance aims to establish a comprehensive ESG certification evaluation, education, and talent development system encompassing the entire Korean tourism industry.
Meanwhile, at the signing ceremony held at Kyung Hee University's College of Hotel and Tourism Management on September 24, the final results of the "Hotel Industry ESG Standard Model Development Study," the first achievement of the K-Tourism ESG Alliance, were announced.
