This event marked the official launch of a core hub for the K-U City Rejuvenation Project being promoted by Cheongsong County, and attracted significant attention from both academia and industry.

The Cheongsong AI Rejuvenation Research Institute aims to establish a precision rejuvenation platform based on multi-omics, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) analysis as a key tool to integrate and analyze vast datasets such as genomes, transcriptomes, and metabolomes. The goal is to elucidate aging mechanisms and expand the findings into the development of personalized solutions and products.

During the ceremony, two types of apple chips and apple juice with enhanced rejuvenating active ingredients from Cheongsong apples, as well as two cosmetic products containing apple-derived components, were released. This demonstrated the potential for high value-added industrialization by combining local agricultural products with advanced analytical and processing technologies. Moving forward, the institute plans to foster an ecosystem for functional foods, cosmetics, and bio-material industries through research and product development utilizing various agricultural products.

To support these efforts, Cheongsong County is working to attract deep-tech companies specializing in rejuvenation, and is establishing a structure where research, industry, and employment are interconnected in a virtuous cycle.

In particular, a total of 12 billion won is being invested in Deok-ri, Cheongsong-eup, to build the "K-U City Cheongsong County AI Rejuvenation Research Complex," which is scheduled for completion in 2027. This is expected to provide a foundation for retaining local youth and attracting new residents to the region.

Additionally, in November, Cheongsong will host the Cheongsong International Rejuvenation Forum-tentatively titled the "International Reverse-Aging Summit 2025"-where leading global scholars and major domestic companies will gather to share the latest research findings and industrial strategies related to rejuvenation.

Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "With the inauguration of the AI Rejuvenation Research Institute, we will strive to transform Cheongsong into a 'rejuvenation wellness city' that integrates clean agricultural products and advanced science and technology, thereby revitalizing the local economy and expanding opportunities for young people to settle in the area."
