A Variety of Traditional Cultural Experiences Offered
Yangsan City Museum (Director Shin Yongcheol) will host the "2025 Chuseok Festival Play Event" for three days from October 4 to 7, in celebration of Chuseok, Korea's largest traditional holiday.
This event is designed to help visitors to the museum deepen their understanding of seasonal customs and reflect on the meaning of spending holidays with family, by offering hands-on experiences with traditional games and crafts.
During the Chuseok Festival Play Event, children and families can participate together in a variety of folk games such as setting up a traditional ritual table, sabangchigi, yutnori, and tuho, as well as folk craft activities like making pinwheels, dancheong norigae, four guardian deities ddakji, wooden spinning tops, and paper eobo. Additionally, yutnori sets will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis to family visitors accompanied by children.
A representative from the City Museum stated, "We have prepared a range of folk experience events so that citizens visiting the museum during the long Chuseok holiday can have an enjoyable time," adding, "We hope the whole family will have a festive and joyful holiday together at the museum."
The traditional craft activities will be available without prior reservation and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last. Please note that the museum will be closed on Chuseok day, October 6 (Monday), during the holiday period.
