PUBG Mobile Finals, Merchandise Collaboration, and K-POP Performance to Be Held
Daejeon City will host the finals of the "Mountain Dew PUBG Mobile Pro Series (PMPS) Season 2" at the Daejeon Esports Stadium for two days, from the 27th to the 28th, for esports fans and citizens. In addition, the city will collaborate with Krafton to present special events and joint merchandise.
Prior to the start of the tournament, at 12:40 p.m. on the 27th, Daejeon City, Krafton, Daejeon Tourism Organization, and Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency will sign an agreement to produce joint merchandise. Through this agreement, merchandise combining Daejeon's representative character "Kkumssi Family" and PUBG Mobile items will be created.
The main items include: ▲ "Kkumdori Magnet with Level 3 Helmet" ▲ Kkumssi Family T-shirts ▲ Drawstring bags (backpacks), among others. These goods will be given out for free to citizens and fans who visit the venue through on-site events. The participating organizations plan to continue expanding joint branding efforts to further vitalize the local esports industry.
The top-tier domestic esports tournament, Mountain Dew PMPS, will also be held in Daejeon. Mountain Dew PMPS is the most prestigious professional league for PUBG Mobile in Korea, with a total of 16 teams participating, including five official partner teams. Over two days, 12 matches will determine the champion, with a total prize pool of 40 million won. The winning team will receive 25 million won.
Daejeon City has solidified its status as the "capital of esports" by hosting the entire Mountain Dew PMPS season again this year, following last year's success. This year, in addition to the finals, the city has prepared a wealth of content under the theme "Chuseok Gift Bundle," combining various experiences and performances.
A variety of experiences, performances, and events have also been arranged. At the venue, a Mountain Dew experience zone by the global beverage brand will offer fans unique entertainment. In addition, a popular K-POP girl band will perform on stage, and a PUBG Mobile event match will be held to further energize the atmosphere on site.
Shin Jin-ho, Head of the PUBGM KR Service Office, stated, "PUBG Mobile is now expanding beyond simple esports to become a cultural content connected with local communities. The collaboration with Daejeon City is the first case of its kind with a local government and will offer citizens a new experience."
Lee Jangwoo, Mayor of Daejeon, said, "Through hosting the Mountain Dew PMPS Season 2 finals, Daejeon is opening a new chapter in esports culture. We hope that the special gift bundle prepared with Krafton will allow fans and citizens to enjoy a bountiful Chuseok."
