Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on the 26th that it held the "2025 Second Half Major Accident Prevention Workshop" on the 25th at Chuncheon Bears Hotel to enhance safety awareness and strengthen response capabilities among major accident-related personnel from the province and city-county levels.

This workshop was organized to align with the government's strong policy stance on eradicating major accidents, including the "Comprehensive Labor Safety Measures" announced on September 15. It aimed to reinforce the role of local governments and related organizations in the province as key players in ensuring safety.


Officials from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and city-county major accident managers attended the event, reaffirming the importance of safety.


In particular, all participants pledged to create a safer workplace in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province through the "Major Accident Prevention Practice Resolution Rally."


Specialized training was also conducted to enhance the participants' practical response capabilities.


The "Understanding the Serious Accidents Punishment Act" lecture covered the main contents of the law, as well as the responsibilities and response measures required of local governments in detail.


The "Safe Workplace Project" lecture shared immediately applicable safety rules and management know-how, focusing on the prevention of the five major types of serious accidents and the twelve core safety rules.


Jeon Jaeseop, Director of Disaster and Safety at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "This workshop focused on building practical response capabilities to identify and improve risk factors in the field in advance," adding, "Based on the strengthened safety awareness we have established today, we will do our utmost to make Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province a place where residents can work with peace of mind, prioritizing safety above all."
