This donation was prepared with the collective support of the cities and counties in the Administrative Council, aiming to help stabilize the lives of Gangneung citizens and support disaster recovery. The Administrative Council, grounded in the spirit of solidarity and mutual growth among regions that have developed alongside the cement industry, has been continuously promoting joint development projects to prevent environmental pollution, restore residents' rights to health and a clean environment, and this donation is part of those ongoing efforts.
On this day, Kim Moongeun, the Governor of Danyang County, stated, "I hope that all citizens affected by the drought can return to their daily lives as soon as possible," and added, "We will continue to fulfill our responsibilities as a council working together with the local community."
Kim Hongkyu, the Mayor of Gangneung City, said, "I deeply appreciate the Administrative Council of Cement Production Areas for their willingness to help, understanding the local situation. The donated funds will be used where needed, including for drought recovery efforts."
Meanwhile, the Administrative Council of Cement Production Areas, which was established in 2023, consists of six cities and counties-Gangneung City, Donghae City, Samcheok City, Yeongwol County, Jecheon City, and Danyang County. The council is actively promoting various joint development projects, including the legislation of a resource circulation facility tax and strengthening environmental regulations on cement companies, to prevent environmental pollution in cement production areas and restore the health rights of local residents.
