Hong Nayoung-Led Multicultural Research Group Seeks to Strengthen Support Policies for Residential Foreigners Hong Nayoung, a Sejong City council member, is leading a research group for revitalizing residential foreign (multicultural) communities. They are visiting the K-Dream Foreign Support Center located in Gumi City, Gyeongbuk, and taking a commemorative photo.

A research group led by Hong Nayoung, a Sejong City council member, dedicated to revitalizing residential foreign (multicultural) communities, visited the K-Dream Foreign Support Center in Gumi City, Gyeongbuk, on the 24th.

This visit was attended by Representative Hong Nayoung, Assemblywoman Kim Hyeonok, Ha Miyong, Director of the Sejong Family Center, Choi Seongeun, Senior Research Fellow at the Sejong Institute, and relevant public officials. The purpose was to learn about the current operations and major projects of the K-Dream Foreign Support Center and to explore practical measures for revitalizing residential foreign communities in the region.

According to Assemblywoman Hong, the group engaged in meaningful discussions, exchanging in-depth opinions on policy directions for the stable settlement of foreign residents in Gumi City and on tasks that could be applied to Sejong City in the future.

The research group plans to incorporate the findings from this site visit into their ongoing research project, aiming to develop customized strategies for establishing a supportive settlement environment for residential foreign (multicultural) communities in Sejong City, taking into account the city's specific characteristics and current situation.

Assemblywoman Hong stated, "Sejong City once had the highest population growth rate, but as it faces stagnation, there is a need for policy preparation to ensure the stable settlement of foreign professionals and international students. Through the advanced operational case of the K-Dream Foreign Support Center, it was a valuable opportunity to identify not only the positive implications for future policy-making in Sejong City but also the essential issues that must be considered."

Assemblywoman Kim Hyeonok said, "It was very meaningful to directly observe various support policies and field-oriented operational cases, which greatly helped in setting the direction for support policies for foreign (multicultural) residents in Sejong. We will work closely with relevant departments to establish practical policies that support the stable settlement of foreign (multicultural) residents."
