HYBE and Paramount Begin Filming K-pop Movie Starring Yoo Jiyoung and Eric Nam

HYBE America, the U.S. subsidiary of HYBE, announced on September 25 that it has finalized the cast and begun filming a live-action movie about K-pop, co-produced with Paramount Pictures.

The lead roles will be played by actress Yoo Jiyoung, who voiced Joy in "K-Pop Demon Hunters," and singer-actor Eric Nam. Supporting cast members include Sung Joon, Kang Sora, Lee Hyungchul, Renata Baca, and Celia Capsis. Earlier this month, Yoo Ji-tae, Tony Revolori, and Gia Kim were also confirmed to join the cast.

The film tells the story of a Korean-American girl who defies her family's opposition and auditions to become a member of a K-pop girl group. The movie is directed by Benson Lee, known for directing "Seoul Camp 1986" starring Cha Inpyo.

The first day of filming took place in Seoul on September 21, and all scenes will be shot in South Korea. In addition to Seoul, filming locations will include Incheon, Gimpo, Paju, and Gapyeong. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release in February 2027.
