On September 25, Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province officially launched the second term of the "New Hope + Gumi City Policy Research Committee," a policy research committee based on public-private cooperation, with experts from various fields across the country, during a ceremony at the main auditorium of Gumi City Hall.

The Policy Research Committee serves as a platform for policy development in which both the private sector and the administration participate, proposing practical policies for Gumi City's major initiatives and local issues.

The second-term committee is organized into three divisions: Future City (Industry and Economy), Happy City (Culture, Tourism, Health, and Welfare), and Vibrant City (Urban Space and Rural Areas). Each division plans and carries out independent research projects tailored to local issues and shares the outcomes through policy discussions and forums.

Song Kyungchang, Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Economic Promotion Agency, leads the committee as chairperson, overseeing overall operations and enhancing research effectiveness through inter-division collaboration and linkage with the Gumi Policy Development Center. The Gumi Policy Development Center, under the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Kumoh National Institute of Technology, is responsible for designing strategic research aligned with municipal policy directions and connecting each division's activities with administrative functions.

Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho stated, "The newly launched committee is at the heart of cooperative governance for designing Gumi City's future," and urged, "I ask each member to diagnose the region from multiple perspectives based on their expertise and field experience and to propose concrete solutions."
