A Total of 1.43 Billion Won Sponsored from 2019 to This Year
Busan-based local liquor company Daesun Distilling will participate as an official sponsor of the Busan International Rock Festival, which will be held from September 26 to 28 at Samnak Ecological Park in Busan.
The Busan International Rock Festival, which first began in 2000, is the longest-running rock music festival in South Korea. Last year, it attracted over 60,000 attendees, securing its status as one of the nation’s leading festivals. This year, the festival will feature 81 teams of artists from Korea and abroad, including headliners The Smashing Pumpkins, Suede, and Babymetal, promising to light up Busan’s nights in spectacular fashion.
During the festival, Daesun Distilling will operate a brand promotion booth and the “Daesun Bar.” In particular, the Daesun Bar will showcase the “Daesun 159 Cocktail,” crafted with a special recipe, to delight both the eyes and palates of festivalgoers.
This year, in collaboration with the festival’s organizing committee, the “Hidden Stage” for emerging artists has been revamped. Here, the “Rookies on the Burak” competition will discover and support promising new musicians, and a variety of programs will be held in which the audience can directly participate. Fifteen talented artist teams, who have passed a rigorous selection process, will perform and engage with the audience during “Rookies on the Burak.”
Choi Hongseong, CEO of Daesun Distilling, said, “It is especially meaningful for the oldest local company in Busan and the nation’s longest-running rock festival to come together. We will continue to contribute to the successful hosting of the rock festival and provide unwavering support so that Busan’s culture and arts can flourish even more.”
Since 2019, Daesun Distilling has maintained an annual sponsorship agreement with the Busan Culture and Tourism Festival Organizing Committee, consistently supporting the Busan International Rock Festival. The cumulative sponsorship amount has reached a total of 1.43 billion won as of this year. In addition, the company has sponsored the Busan Fireworks Festival for 20 consecutive years and has contributed to the Busan Port Festival, faithfully fulfilling its role as a leading local company committed to mutual growth with the community.
