78% Employment Rate at Leading IT Companies in Korea and Abroad
Over 50 Graduates Secure Overseas Positions
8th Cohort Applications Open on the 29th... 10-Month Program
Woowa Brothers' "Woowa Tech Course" has established itself as a training ground for outstanding developers. Graduates of this program have consistently secured jobs at "Naver-Kakao-Line-Coupang-Baedal Minjok-Danggeun-Toss" companies. This phrase, formed from the first letters of Naver, Kakao, Line, Coupang, Baedal Minjok, Danggeun, and Toss, refers to companies where anyone learning programming aspires to work. Since last year, a growing number of graduates have also succeeded in landing jobs at global companies, achieving employment overseas.
According to Woowa Brothers on September 26, the "Woowa Tech Course," which began in 2019, has produced a total of 595 graduates across six cohorts, with approximately 78% securing positions at leading IT companies both in Korea and abroad. Currently, 141 trainees are participating in the 7th cohort. The most notable aspect is the companies where graduates have been hired. In addition to Woowa Brothers, top domestic IT companies such as Coupang, Kakao, Naver, Line, and NHN have recruited graduates from the program. Furthermore, graduates have joined major corporations like Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, LG CNS, Hanwha Systems, and Hyundai Autoever. Many have also found employment at unicorn companies such as Danggeun, Viva Republica (Toss), Yanolja, MyRealTrip, Bucketplace (Today's House), Musinsa, and Korea Credit Data.
Since the 5th cohort in 2025, graduates have been active on the global stage, joining companies such as Delivery Hero's headquarters in Germany and the local delivery app Talabat in the United Arab Emirates. Including the 6th cohort, which graduated last year, around 50 graduates have successfully found employment overseas. Park Jaesung, Head of Tech Growth at Woowa Brothers, explained, "Woowa Tech Course has become a gateway for developers, spreading a healthy development culture and having a positive impact on the IT industry."
Woowa Brothers launched this program to address the shortage of IT developers and to nurture the high-quality talent needed across the industry. Every year, the company runs a 10-month training course to foster the next generation of developers, with all tuition costs fully covered by Woowa Brothers.
The reason trainees can land developer positions at highly coveted companies after just 10 months of intensive training is that the program equips them with practical development skills. Baedal Minjok focused on bridging the significant gap between the practical skills expected in the industry and the programming knowledge taught at universities, aiming to cultivate developers who can contribute immediately in the workplace. Trainees receive feedback from professionals currently working in the field and undergo hands-on, job-oriented training as if they were already on the job. In addition, the program fosters self-driven growth through mission-based projects and supports the development of both technical and soft skills, such as collaboration and communication, to help trainees become well-rounded developers.
Woowa Brothers will begin accepting applications for the 8th cohort of the Woowa Tech Course at 3 p.m. on September 29. The application deadline is 10 a.m. on October 10. The company plans to recruit a total of 150 trainees across three fields: web backend, web frontend, and mobile Android. Anyone who wants to grow as a developer, regardless of their major, is eligible to apply.
