The foundation announced on the 25th that it actively promoted Gangwon's MICE infrastructure and support systems at the '2025 IT&CMA (Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia)' held in Bangkok, Thailand, from the 23rd to the 25th.

IT&CMA is the largest MICE-focused exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region. This year, more than 1,700 participants from 27 countries gathered, resulting in over 7,500 business meetings.

The Gangwon Tourism Foundation, in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization, jointly operated the Korea Promotion Booth. Through pre-scheduled appointments (PSA) and on-site consultations with global buyers, the foundation showcased Gangwon's distinctive MICE infrastructure, unique venues, and customized support programs.

In addition, on the evening of the 25th, the foundation is participating in the 'Korea MICE Roadshow' held at the Chiang Mai Marriott Hotel, conducting one-on-one consultations and networking with over 70 key local travel agencies and buyers. At this event, the foundation plans to strengthen its local market strategy by introducing Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province's MICE support policies and programs linked to the '2025-2026 Visit Gangwon Years' initiative.

Furthermore, the foundation is accelerating efforts to attract international conferences and large-scale events, leveraging the Gangneung Convention Center, which is set to open in 2026. By combining Gangwon's abundant natural and tourism resources with world-class convention infrastructure, the foundation is preparing to establish Gangwon as a premier global MICE destination.

Choi Sunghyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, stated, "Through our participation in IT&CMA, we were able to showcase Gangwon's MICE competitiveness on the global stage. We will further strengthen local partnerships at the Chiang Mai Roadshow and use the opening of the Gangneung Convention Center next year as a new milestone to elevate Gangwon into a global MICE hub."
