Yeungnam University Law School Achieves Top Nationwide Ranking with 10 Successful Candidates in New Prosecutor Exam

Yeungnam University (President Choi Oechul) announced on September 25 that it ranked first nationwide by producing 10 successful candidates in the 2025 new prosecutor recruitment exam. This achievement surpasses last year’s record of seven new prosecutors, marking another milestone for the university.

Since its establishment, Yeungnam University Law School (Dean Seo Bogun) has consistently produced prosecutors, with a total of 41 graduates having become prosecutors to date. For next year’s appointments, 10 students from the 15th graduating class-Kim Kangsan, Kim Sungmin, Kim Yongjae, Kim Haeun, Min Hyeju, Jang Seokhwan, Jeon Chanwoong, Joo Sanguk, Jin Sooyoung, and Ham Seungyeon-who are scheduled to graduate in February next year, passed the new prosecutor recruitment exam. In addition, Seo Hayana, a graduate from the 12th class, passed as an experienced prosecutor.

Ten graduates from Yeungnam University Law School who passed the new bar exam attended a congratulatory meeting with Yeungnam University President Choi Oechul.

At a congratulatory meeting for the successful candidates held in the president’s reception room on the morning of September 24, Jeon Chanwoong (28) said, “I applied to Yeungnam University Law School with the dream of becoming a prosecutor, and thanks to the meticulous guidance of the school and professors, I was able to achieve that dream. The professors’ attention to even the smallest details is a unique strength of Yeungnam University. As I move into society, I will uphold principles and confidently demonstrate my abilities, taking the lead in raising the stature of Yeungnam University Law School.”

Since its founding, Yeungnam University Law School has also consistently demonstrated outstanding results in the bar exam. It ranked first nationwide in the 9th bar exam, and second nationwide in the 8th and 10th bar exams (based on the number of students admitted per class). In the 2023 third-cycle evaluation of law schools, it also received an “accredited” rating, recognizing the excellence of its operations and quality of education.

President Choi Oechul stated, “Ranking first nationwide in the new prosecutor recruitment exam is by no means an easy feat. This achievement is the valuable result of the students’ intense efforts and the dedicated guidance of the faculty.
