Jeong Kimyeong, Mayor of Yeosu, Nominated as the Next Participant
Kim Cheolwoo, the governor of Boseong County in South Jeolla Province, actively participated in expanding the nationwide enthusiasm for the 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo by joining the relay support campaign wishing for its successful hosting on the 25th. Governor Kim was nominated by Jang Seil, the governor of Yeonggwang County, and in turn nominated Jeong Kimyeong, the mayor of Yeosu, as the next participant.
This relay challenge began with the participation of Kim Yungrok, the governor of South Jeolla Province. It aims to widely promote the core visions of the expo, including the globalization of Namdo gourmet cuisine, fostering sustainable industries, expanding exports of local food companies, and revitalizing global culinary exchanges, as well as to attract nationwide attention and participation.

Governor Kim stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure the successful hosting of the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo, which brings together the rich ingredients and culinary culture of Namdo." He added, "From October 24 to 26, the first Boseong Yeolseonru Yi Sunshin History and Culture Festival will be held, so I ask for the active interest and participation of residents and citizens in both the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo and the festival."
Meanwhile, the 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo will take place from October 1 to 26 at the Mokpo Culture and Arts Center. During the event, a variety of content will be offered to visitors, including a theme pavilion, a gourmet culture pavilion, a K-food industry pavilion, and an ASEAN pavilion, as well as global events, cooking competitions for youth and teenagers, export consultation meetings, and more, providing a wide range of attractions and experiences.
