On October 25, 2025, the city of Siheung in Gyeonggi Province will host a hands-on event for families called "Catch Insects (GO), Harvest Lotus Roots (GO)" at the Lotus Theme Park.
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in ecological education programs focused on the insects living in the Lotus Theme Park and to experience harvesting lotus roots, a local specialty, firsthand.
The event will feature insect-themed programs such as the Insect Exploration Team, Insect Calligraphy, Insect Observation Experience, Beeswax Wrap Making, and Healing Oil Making, as well as lotus-themed programs including Lotus Root Harvesting, Lotus Cuisine Experience, Lotus Bouquet Making, and Lotus Flower Arrangement.
There will also be a variety of hands-on activities for families to enjoy, along with booths selling local agricultural products.
The city will accept applications from the first 125 family teams of two or more people. Families wishing to participate can apply by scanning the QR code on the event promotional materials from September 25 to October 17. The participation fee is 10,000 won per adult and 5,000 won per child or youth.
