Documenting Intergenerational Exchange, Communication, and Empathy... Busan Urban Corporation Holds Sedaeeum Memorial Story Cultural Event

Busan Urban Corporation and Busan Metropolitan City announced on the 24th that they held the "Sedaeeum Memorial Story Cultural Exchange" event on the 16th, a city regeneration cultural content initiative designed to document the lives of local seniors and promote intergenerational exchange.

With the theme of "Empathy and Connection Across Generations," the event featured the release of content sharing the stories of five seniors who have contributed to economic, social, and cultural regeneration. Utilizing media such as webtoons and videos, the event served as a platform for communication across generations.

This year's featured individuals were seniors who have overcome various hardships and dedicated themselves to volunteer work and sharing within the community over many years, serving as role models. Their life stories resonated deeply with the younger generation.

Approximately 70 people attended the event, including exemplary seniors from the region, young creators, students from the Department of Webtoons at Youngsan University, local youth, experts in related fields, and officials from relevant organizations. The program included screenings of autobiographical videos, exhibitions of webtoons, webtoon books and photographic records, as well as networking opportunities for participants.

The content produced for this project will be released through the official Busan Urban Corporation YouTube channel "BadagaTube" so that it is accessible to the general public. The exhibition will also continue at the Youth Hostel Arpina until November. In addition, the newly created webtoon book will be available at around 150 locations, including local libraries and welfare centers.

We will continue to take meaningful steps to bridge and foster empathy among diverse generations."
