Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jung Cheolwon) announced on the 24th that it held the "Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill" on the 23rd, which simulated a large fire caused by an unidentified explosion at a multi-use facility to inspect the disaster response system.

The drill involved 10 departments and 13 working groups, including the Damyang County Disaster and Safety Division, as well as related agencies such as the Damyang Fire Station and Damyang Police Station.

The exercise set specific time standards to assess the actual level of response, with goals such as disseminating information within five minutes, holding a situation assessment meeting within 20 minutes, establishing a Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, and setting up an Integrated Support Center. The focus was on improving proficiency in initial response, emergency handling, and post-disaster recovery and restoration stages.

A county official stated, "Through this drill, we confirmed our ability to report quickly and respond systematically through coordinated cooperation," adding, "We will continue to strengthen disaster response drills to protect the lives and property of our residents."
