Dong-Eui Science University Holds Graduation Ceremony
for the "Alcoholistic Brewing Master" Program

How about taking the lead in life as a "master of alcohol" in your middle years? Dong-Eui Science University has completed a specialized brewing training program for the new middle-aged generation.


Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Youngdo) announced on the 24th that it held the graduation ceremony for the 2nd class of the "Alcoholistic New Middle-Aged Brewing Master Training Course" on the 11th. This program was part of the "Busan 50+ Life Redesign College," a project commissioned by Busan Metropolitan City.

This year's 2nd class produced 40 graduates from the new middle-aged group. The curriculum was practice-oriented, covering the basic principles of brewing, hands-on beer and Makgeolli production, making fermented vinegar, and side dish cooking practice. It also included career and entrepreneurship support programs such as special lectures on life redesign, case studies on starting a home brewing business, and team-based brewing simulations.


After completing the program, graduates can participate in follow-up activities until December, such as obtaining the Brewmaster certification (a private qualification issued by the university president), additional brewing practice, and tours of local breweries, to gain field experience and access information on employment and entrepreneurship.


Kim Taekyung, Dean of the Lifelong Education Center at Dong-Eui Science University, said, "There is a growing need for continued education so that the new middle-aged generation can prepare for their senior years as part of the economically active population," adding, "We will contribute to lifelong education and the revitalization of jobs for the new middle-aged generation by utilizing the university's infrastructure."
