"Not an Affair but Friendship, Husband Also on a Date During Separation"... Coldplay 'Kiss Cam' Woman Speaks Out

Already Separated from Husband at the Time of Concert
Received Death Threats After Being Caught on Kiss Cam

The woman accused of having an affair during a Coldplay concert is expressing her frustration over the allegations. On September 23, American entertainment media outlet People quoted a close associate of Christine Cabot, former Chief People Officer (CPO) of Astronomer, as saying, "Christine and former CEO Andy Byron had a close professional relationship and shared a strong friendship. There was no affair."

This associate stated, "It was inappropriate for her to hug her boss at the concert, but Byron, as her superior, took full responsibility." However, the associate also argued, "That does not mean Christine deserves to be caught up in an affair scandal, lose her reputation, and lose her job. That would be unfair." The associate further emphasized that it was wrong for Christine to be labeled a "homewrecker," and revealed that at the time, her then-husband Andrew was also attending the concert with another date.

The associate continued, explaining that Christine and her husband were already separated when she attended the concert, and they began divorce proceedings a month later. The two reportedly remained amicable throughout the divorce process. Additionally, the associate stated, "After the incident became public, Christine received about 900 death threats over three days," and added, "Even when she went to pick up her son, people would stand outside her car, point fingers, and take photos, making it difficult for her to leave the house." The associate also mentioned that the children were going through a difficult time. However, People noted that Christine herself did not respond to requests for comment. Neither Byron nor Cabot have made any direct statements regarding the incident.

This alleged affair incident took place during Coldplay's concert in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 16. During the "Kiss Cam" event at the venue, Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and Christine Cabot, CPO, were captured on camera. At the time, Byron was seen hugging Cabot from behind, while Cabot held his hand tightly and leaned on him, all of which was displayed on the large screen.

However, as soon as they appeared on the screen, they seemed startled and broke their embrace; the woman turned away, covering her face, while the man sat down on the floor to move out of the camera's angle. At that moment, Chris Martin of Coldplay joked, "Either they're extremely shy or they're having an affair." As footage of the incident spread on social media, suspicions of an affair between the two arose. Ultimately, both left the company, and their respective marriages reportedly suffered significant damage. Their embarrassed reaction became a topic of conversation among internet users worldwide, spawning various parodies and memes.
