Held Under the Theme of "Fostering the Future Together"
Kim Hye-kyung, the wife of President Lee Jae-myung, attended a reception hosted by Melania Trump, the wife of U.S. President Donald Trump, for spouses of heads of state participating in the United Nations General Assembly at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel on the 23rd (local time), according to Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Jeon Eun-su.
This reception, held under the theme "Fostering the Future Together," began with a speech by Melania Trump emphasizing that "by creating a safe environment that enables technological innovation, our children's simple dreams and hobbies can grow into the remarkable possibilities of future society."
After Melania Trump's speech, Kim Hye-kyung warmly greeted and spent time building friendships with the spouses of leaders from Vietnam, Australia, Canada, Papua New Guinea, T?rkiye, Lithuania, Slovenia, and other countries.
Deputy Spokesperson Jeon stated, "Many of the spouses expressed great interest in the Korean Wave, and Kim Hye-kyung responded by expressing her hope that this would lead to continued cultural exchange. In particular, Kim Hye-kyung conveyed to spouses of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member states her expectation to reunite in Korea on the occasion of the APEC Summit hosted by the Republic of Korea."
