Sacheon Airport, Gateway to South Korea's Aerospace Industry
Seo Chunho, a National Assembly member from the People Power Party representing Sacheon, Namhae, and Hadong, has personally joined and lent his support to the province-wide signature campaign for the promotion of Sacheon Airport in South Gyeongsang Province to international airport status.
On September 23, Assemblyman Seo participated in the signature relay campaign, stating, "The expansion and promotion of Sacheon Airport to an international airport is the earnest wish of 3.26 million residents of South Gyeongsang Province," and emphasized, "I will ensure that Sacheon Airport becomes the gateway to South Korea's aerospace industry."

He also participated in the campaign holding a placard reading "Aerospace Hub, Soar as an International Airport," and asserted, "Sacheon Airport must be developed not just as a local airport but as a national strategic airport."
In particular, he expressed strong determination, saying, "I will continue to persuade the government and relevant ministries so that the promotion of Sacheon Airport to international airport status will be included in the 7th Comprehensive Airport Development Plan scheduled for the end of this year, focusing all efforts to achieve this goal."
The province-wide signature campaign is regarded as an important foundation for elevating Sacheon Airport to international airport status, enabling the city to emerge as a central hub on the southern coast and revitalizing the aerospace industry, tourism, and logistics. With the participation of political circles, local governments, and the regional community, this campaign has become a symbolic event demonstrating the strong will of the province’s residents.
Meanwhile, on September 1, Assemblyman Seo Chunho invited more than ten key airport experts to the National Assembly and hosted a policy forum on "The Path of Aerospace: Promotion and Expansion of Sacheon International Airport," continuing concrete steps toward realizing the long-cherished wish of 3.26 million residents of South Gyeongsang Province.
