Personalized Follow-Up Care Linked to Public Health Programs

Jongno District in Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Moonheun) announced on September 24 that, until the 30th of this month, it will provide free health checkups in connection with the "Healthirang Service" to residents visiting community service centers to apply for the second round of bus transportation subsidies and livelihood recovery consumption coupons.

This service was designed to improve convenience by combining resident civil services with health management and to identify vulnerable groups early. A pilot program began at the Hyehwa-dong Community Service Center on September 1, and, thanks to high user satisfaction, the program was expanded to all neighborhoods. A total of 49 visiting nurses, exercise specialists, nutritionists, and community health activists are now participating in the checkups.

The service is available to Jongno District residents aged 20 and older, with a particular focus on supporting seniors aged 65 and older. Residents can receive basic health screenings such as blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and hemoglobin A1c tests when applying for support, and they will also be offered guidance on health management through consultations.

As the operating schedule varies by neighborhood, residents who wish to receive a health checkup should call their local community service center before visiting. From September 1 to 18, approximately 1,000 people have received checkups, and the district plans to use this data to develop additional measures, such as early identification of high-risk groups.
