LG Electronics Becomes Official TV Partner of the Emmy Awards in the US

LG Electronics has been selected as the official TV partner of the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious honor in the American broadcasting industry.

On September 24, LG Electronics announced that it has entered into a partnership with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which organizes the Emmy Awards. Through this partnership, the two parties will collaborate in various areas, including joint marketing, advertising, and product support, until the end of 2026.

This partnership was made possible based on the trust built through long-standing B2B (business-to-business) transactions between LG Electronics and the Academy. To commemorate the partnership, LG Electronics launched a video advertising campaign promoting this year’s Emmy Awards ahead of the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles on September 14 (local time). The campaign was displayed on the New York Times Square electronic billboard, official social media channels, and in over 500 Best Buy locations, the largest home appliance retailer in North America.

In particular, through this partnership, LG smart TV users in the United States can now enjoy all-time Emmy Award-winning works directly on LG’s proprietary smart TV platform, webOS. LG Electronics has added a dedicated banner to its global FAST (Free Advertising Streaming TV) service, LG Channel, making it easy to access a list of past Emmy-winning works.

Viewers can watch “The Pitt,” the medical drama from the HBO Max channel that won this year’s Drama Series award, and “The Studio,” the Apple TV+ comedy that won the Comedy Series award, on their respective OTT (over-the-top) streaming platforms.

First established in 1949, the Emmy Awards mark their 77th ceremony this year, annually recognizing outstanding achievements and innovation in television and broadcasting, including works, actors, and technologies. In 2021, LG Electronics received a Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for its OLED TV. This award is given to organizations that have made innovative contributions to broadcast technology and viewing environments, and the LG OLED TV was highly rated for its color reproduction and expressive capabilities.

Furthermore, in professional content markets such as Hollywood, the LG OLED TV has been recognized as a reference TV for experts, and LG Electronics continues to collaborate with Hollywood filmmakers to realize display technologies optimized for content viewing.
