After Financial Services Commission, All Executives at Financial Supervisory Service Also Resign

Following the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Financial Services Commission, all executives at the Financial Supervisory Service have also submitted their resignations.

According to the financial sector on September 23, Lee Chanjin, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, requested the resignations of 11 incumbent executives, including three deputy governors and eight assistant deputy governors, on this day. It is reported that all of them have submitted their resignations.

With all first-grade officials at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Financial Services Commission recently submitting their resignations, and now all executives at the Financial Supervisory Service doing the same, the unsettled atmosphere among economic ministries is expected to continue.

The government is currently pursuing an organizational restructuring plan that would transfer the financial policy functions of the Financial Services Commission to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, while reorganizing the remaining organization into the Financial Supervisory Commission.
