Four Daegu SW Meister High School Students Land Jobs in Silicon Valley: Kwon Jiyong, Ryu Hyunseo, Lee Yunseon, Kim Hyejung

Daegu Software Meister High School (Acting Principal Han Seokmin) has solidified its status as a global software talent training institution by successfully placing students in Silicon Valley for the third consecutive year. On September 23, the school announced that four out of ten third-year students who participated in this year's global field training program received official job offers from local companies.

From July 19, for a period of six weeks, the students worked as interns at various Silicon Valley companies, including XL8 Inc, Qoom Inc, SmileQ Inc, Ceeya Inc, Bizben Inc, and A&K Systems. They demonstrated outstanding abilities while participating in a range of projects such as software development, data analysis, AI-based automation solutions, and pet video call systems. As a result, students Kwon Jiyong (XL8 Inc.), Ryu Hyunseo (Ceeya Inc.), Lee Yunseon (Qoom Inc.), and Kim Hyejung (A&K Systems Inc.) achieved remarkable success by receiving official job offers.

The students who succeeded in securing jobs in Silicon Valley expressed their ambition not only for personal growth but also to contribute to the future development of the domestic software industry.

Kwon Jiyong said, "The challenge in Silicon Valley gave me the courage and confidence to push beyond my limits." Ryu Hyunseo shared, "For someone who used to only look at the predetermined path, this experience instilled a spirit of challenge in me, and it felt like opening the second chapter of my life." Lee Yunseon stated, "It is hard to measure just how much this experience has given me." Kim Hyejung expressed, "I am deeply moved to be working in Silicon Valley, which has been my dream since childhood."

Daegu Software Meister High School evaluated that this achievement was the result of the students' individual efforts combined with the school's international education programs and customized curriculum.

Acting Principal Han Seokmin said, "It is a very meaningful achievement that students gained practical experience locally and that some of them were able to secure employment," emphasizing, "The support from the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) is serving as an important stepping stone for our students to grow into global talents."

First introduced in 2019, this program has continued to operate except during the COVID-19 period, and has established itself as a talent development model recognized even in Silicon Valley, going beyond a simple overseas internship. This achievement was made possible through close cooperation among educational institutions, supporting organizations, and local companies, and is expected to become a leading example that will provide more students with opportunities to advance onto the global stage in the future.
