Yeonggwang County, Jeollanam-do held the final report meeting for the "Yeonggwang County Basic Strategy and Promotion Plan for Sustainable Development Research Project" on the 22nd at the county office's small conference room.
This meeting was organized to share the research results that have been supplemented since the kick-off meeting in August last year and the interim report meeting in August this year, and to establish realistic development strategies.
At the final report meeting, the vision of "A Hopeful Community of Yeonggwang with Communication and Consideration" was set, and 17 main goals, 25 detailed objectives, and 75 specific projects were announced. These included strengthening sustainable energy self-reliance, establishing a tailored education system, and creating a resource-circulating environment for sustainable production and consumption.
In particular, issues directly related to the lives of residents and regional development-such as revitalizing tourism, expanding renewable energy, achieving energy self-reliance, and creating youth jobs-were further refined and incorporated after the interim report meeting.
Recently, the government has been promoting "Establishing a Foundation for Sustainable Development That Citizens Can Feel" as a national policy, strengthening policies for balanced development in the economy, society, and environment. In line with this, Yeonggwang County has established concrete and practical strategies tailored to the region's characteristics.
An official from Yeonggwang County stated, "This research project was an important process in creating sustainable development strategies that residents can truly feel," adding, "We will continue to communicate with residents and steadily implement effective policies to make Yeonggwang a place where everyone can be happy."
