Divorced Men Feel Sincerity When Served Home-Cooked Meals... Divorced Women When Financial Documents Are Disclosed

A recent survey found that among divorced singles dating with the intention of remarriage, men feel their partner's sincerity when served a home-cooked meal, while women feel it when their partner discloses financial documents.

On September 23, Only-You, a matchmaking agency specializing in remarriage, and Bienarae (CEO Son Donggyu) jointly conducted a survey from September 15 to 21. They asked 538 divorced men and women (269 men and 269 women) via email and phone, "At what point do you feel your partner's sincerity regarding remarriage?"

Among men, 33.1% responded "being served a home-cooked meal," while 32.3% of women chose "disclosure of financial documents." The next most common response for both genders was "an honest self-introduction" (26.4% for men, 26.8% for women). For third place, men selected "disclosure of financial documents" (19.3%), while women chose "presentation of a remarriage blueprint" (19.0%). In fourth place, both men and women cited "support in resolving current issues" (14.5% for men, 15.6% for women).

When asked, "If you are seriously dating someone with the intention of remarriage and receive a new matchmaking proposal, what would you do?" 53.5% of men and 56.9% of women said they would "accept," making up the majority in both groups. This means that 55.2% of divorced singles would be open to additional introductions even while in a committed relationship with remarriage in mind. The percentage was 3.4 points higher for women than men. Those who answered "decline" accounted for 46.5% of men and 43.1% of women.

Regarding the question, "At what stage in your relationship with a potential remarriage partner would you stop accepting additional matchmaking proposals?" both men and women ranked "family meeting" (29.4% for men, 27.1% for women) and "exchange of remarriage gifts" (26.0% for men, 30.5% for women) as the top two reasons. However, men were more likely to choose the family meeting, while women were more likely to choose the exchange of remarriage gifts. For men, the next most common answers were "remarriage pledge" (19.7%) and "cohabitation" (16.7%). For women, "cohabitation" (20.1%) came before "remarriage pledge" (13.7%).

Son Donggyu, CEO of Only-You, advised, "It is difficult to find a flawless, perfect partner for remarriage. Once your expectations are reasonably met, you should focus on your partner so as not to miss out on a valuable opportunity."
