“Seoripul Runners” is a volunteer group composed of young people aged 18 to 28, symbolizing youth who run and grow together for the festival, combining the meanings of “Runner” and “Learner.” After its inaugural launch last year, the group received positive feedback for its active participation at the festival site. This year, they are expected to provide even more specialized support behind the scenes.
This year’s recruitment for the volunteer group also received a great response, with a total of 149 young people selected. They will be active in various roles at the Seoripul Music Festival, which will be held over two days on the 27th and 28th, including stage management, event operations, and interpretation support.
During the launch ceremony, the volunteers were welcomed and received official pink T-shirts and team badges. In addition, basic training and role-specific work training were conducted to ensure smooth on-site volunteering.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Seoripul Music Festival will feature the theme “Seocho is the Music!” and transform a 900-meter section of Banpo-daero into a massive concert venue, showcasing performances in a variety of genres including classical, jazz, K-POP, and Korean traditional music. World-renowned soprano Sumi Jo, as well as Epik High and MeloMance, will grace the stage to complete a vibrant music festival. Throughout the festival grounds, there will also be choir and jazz performances and family-friendly programs, ensuring enjoyment for people of all ages.
Mayor Seongsoo Jeon of Seocho District stated, “The Seoripul Runners, who have grown through last year’s festival, will play a vital role in leading this year’s event. I hope that the second term of Seoripul Runners will establish itself as Seocho’s representative youth volunteer platform and significantly contribute to spreading a culture of community service in the region.”
