Lee Jiho, the eldest son of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, began his official training as a naval officer after completing the 139th Officer Candidate Entrance Ceremony held at Ungpo Auditorium of the Korea Naval Academy in Jinhae-gu, Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, on the morning of September 23.
After enlisting with fellow candidates on September 15, Lee will undergo 11 weeks of training starting from this day. He is scheduled to be commissioned as a Navy second lieutenant on December 1, following the commissioning ceremony on November 28, and will serve a total of 39 months in the military, including his training period.
After the entrance ceremony, he shook hands with the battalion commander and expressed his determination, saying, "I will not give up."
