Cheorwon County in Gangwon Province (Governor Lee Hyun-jong) announced on September 23 that it will host the '2025 National Heritage Media Art Cheorwon Labor Party Headquarters' event for one month, from September 26 to October 26. The event will take place at the Cheorwon Labor Party Headquarters and the Cheorwon History and Culture Park area, running from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each evening. It is drawing attention as a new initiative to revitalize nighttime tourism in Cheorwon.

The event venue is divided into four zones, offering a variety of media art experiences. In the History Zone, seven programs such as 'From Cheorwon to Cheorwon' and '80 Years of Liberation, Returning with Light' will shed light on Cheorwon's past and present. The Art & Tech Zone will feature six programs that combine cutting-edge technology and art, including 'Story of Cheorwon Mural Village' and 'Media Rock.' In addition, the People Zone and Eco Zone will each offer nine and seven programs, respectively, focusing on Cheorwon's natural environment and peace. In total, 29 programs will provide a rich array of attractions and entertainment.
In particular, this event stands out for its special consideration for those with limited mobility. To ensure that people with disabilities and the elderly can enjoy the nighttime media art without inconvenience, professional staff with medical and social welfare qualifications will be on hand to provide support. A demand-responsive shuttle bus service will also be available, sending a shuttle to the desired location for groups of 15 or more elderly or disabled participants.
A variety of performances and events will also be held, including 'Choi Seunghee's Bodhisattva Dance,' the 'Pororo Sing-Along Show,' and the 'Cheorwon Arts Troupe Convergence Performance,' making it a festival that everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy.
Lee Hyun-jong, Governor of Cheorwon County, stated, "Through this media art festival, we have reinterpreted Cheorwon's unique historical value with a modern sensibility to provide new nighttime tourism content," adding, "We will continue to strive for the development of Cheorwon's culture and tourism in the future."
More detailed information about the event, special programs, and reservations for the demand-responsive shuttle bus service can be found on the official website.
Meanwhile, to ensure the smooth operation of the media art event, the Tourism Development Team of the Tourism Policy Office, which is the department in charge, will hold a project briefing and preliminary training session for local residents, village leaders, and event staff at Cheorwon Town Office at 3:00 p.m. on September 23.
