Daegu Metropolitan Government and the Daegu Folk Festival Association will host the '2025 Daegu Folk Festival' from September 26 to 28, for three days at the Kim Kwangseok-gil Outdoor Concert Hall and its surrounding area.

Now in its 11th year, the Daegu Folk Festival has evolved beyond a simple music event to become a cultural hub where art and daily life come together. Through programs such as the 'Folk Star Contest' for discovering new folk artists, initiatives to revitalize the local music ecosystem, and citizen participation programs, the festival continues to enhance Daegu's brand as a city of performing arts. Every year, it receives enthusiastic support from citizens and visitors who love folk music.

The opening performance will begin at 5 p.m. on September 26, featuring the beloved folk duo Yurisangja and the singer-songwriter Yang Hayoung, known for her clear and pure vocals.

On the final day of the festival, September 28, legendary figures from Korea's rock and folk scene, Lee Chihyun and Lee Gyuseok-well known for his emotive musical style-will perform, bringing the festival to a grand conclusion. Lee Jaeseong, Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism at Daegu Metropolitan Government, stated, "As the Daegu Folk Festival marks its 11th year, I hope it becomes a new stage of challenge for emerging musicians and that the folk melodies spreading through Kim Kwangseok-gil in the deepening autumn will bring warmth to the daily lives of our citizens."
