From September 24 to 27... Over 30,000 Participants Nationwide
The '2025 Korea Urban and Regional Innovation Industry Expo,' which seeks to promote urban innovation and industrial specialization through participation and collaboration, will be held for four days from September 24 to 27 at the Jeongra District urban regeneration project site in Samcheok City. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Saturday closing at 3:00 p.m.
Now in its seventh year, the expo is co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Samcheok City, the Urban Regeneration Industry Promotion Association, and Yonhap News Agency. The Korea Urban and Regional Innovation Industry Expo Organizing Committee is in charge of managing the event.
Additionally, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, and Korea Real Estate Board are co-organizers. More than 30,000 participants, including urban regeneration-related organizations from across the country, metropolitan and basic local governments, stakeholders, and citizens, are expected to attend.
Launched in 2019 as the Urban Regeneration Industry Expo, the event has supported government urban innovation policy promotion. Since 2024, it has been renamed and expanded into a comprehensive expo covering all aspects of urban and regional innovation.
Significantly, the expo is being held directly at an urban regeneration site. Over 300 booths will be operated, including the Public Innovation Hall, Urban and Regional Innovation Hall, Industrial Innovation Hall, Award-Winning Works Exhibition Zone, and the Community Plaza, making Samcheok a hub of urban innovation.
Official events will begin with the opening ceremony on the 24th, followed by a multilateral urban regeneration governance work agreement signing ceremony, award ceremonies for the Urban and Regional Innovation Awards and academic paper and drone photography contests, an international conference, and six seminars including the 2025 Urban Regeneration Project Joint Workshop.
A city official stated, "Through this expo, we aim to establish an expert network that brings together the public, private sector, industry, and academia to successfully complete ongoing urban regeneration projects and drive the discovery and promotion of new urban regeneration sites. We will do our utmost to explore sustainable directions for urban development and strengthen urban competitiveness."
