Recovering After Treatment for Mild Concussion
Father Says, "He Won't Return to Filming for a While"
Tom Holland, the lead actor in the film "Spider-Man," suffered a concussion after a fall during the filming of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."
According to foreign media outlets such as The Sun on September 21 (local time), Holland fell while filming at the Leavesden Studios set in Watford, UK, on the morning of September 19 and was urgently transported to the hospital. It was also reported that a female stunt double for Holland was injured at the filming site and was taken to the hospital by ambulance together with him.
Holland was diagnosed by medical staff with a mild concussion and is said to have received treatment and recovered at the hospital. However, it is expected that filming for the movie will be suspended for the time being due to this accident. After the incident, Holland's father, comedian Dominic, announced at a charity dinner held in Mayfair, London, that "Tom will not be able to return to filming for a while."
Holland also attended the event that day with his fianc?e, actress Zendaya, but reportedly left early due to his poor physical condition.
As a result of the accident, there is a possibility that the production schedule for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," which has a budget of 150 million pounds (approximately 282 billion KRW), will be delayed by several weeks. Local media also reported that the UK's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) mentioned the possibility of investigating the incident, given the scale of the accident.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, which are co-producing the film, are reportedly planning to hold a meeting to determine the future direction of production.
Meanwhile, Tom Holland is a British-born actor who gained worldwide popularity after taking on the lead role in Marvel's "Spider-Man" series in 2017. "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," which is currently being filmed, is the fourth installment in which Holland stars as Spider-Man, and is scheduled for release in July next year.
